When each store’s digital coupons and weekly ad refresh
Two things at your store change on a schedule: the weekly ad, with that week’s sale prices, and the digital coupons you load to your account. They don’t always change on the same day, and some stores don’t name a day for coupons at all.
This guide lists what each store says on its own help pages. Times vary by store location, region and week, and can change around holidays, so treat this as a starting point. Your store’s own app or website is the final word.
The weekly ad and digital coupons run on different clocks
The weekly ad is the store’s list of sale prices for the week, and it changes on a set day. Digital coupons are offers you load to your account, and each one has its own dates. Kroger says coupon start and end dates vary based on the offer, and each coupon shows an expiration date below the offer details. Publix says new coupons can be added at any time.
So a new ad week is a good reminder to check your store’s coupon page, but new coupons can appear on other days too.
Kroger and its banners: Wednesday, or Thursday in some areas
Kroger’s Weekly Ad FAQ says the new weekly ad is available at midnight ET on Wednesday. For stores in Indiana (except southeast Indiana and Evansville), Illinois and eastern Missouri, it’s available at midnight ET on Thursday.
The same answer is on the Weekly Ad FAQ of City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry’s Food, Gerbes, Harris Teeter, Jay C Food Stores, King Soopers, Mariano’s, Metro Market, Pay Less, Pick ’n Save, QFC, Ralphs and Smith’s.
For digital coupons, Kroger doesn’t give a day. Its coupon FAQ says start and end dates vary based on the offer, so check the coupon page itself for what’s new.
Publix: Wednesday or Thursday, depending on the store
Publix runs two weekly ad cycles. Ads that run Wednesday through Tuesday are posted around midnight Eastern Time on Wednesday morning. Ads that run Thursday through Wednesday are posted around midnight Eastern Time on Thursday morning. Publix adds that posting can take several hours, so there’s no exact time the ad will appear.
For digital coupons, Publix says new coupons can be added at any time, so check back often. To see the newest first, it suggests sorting its Digital Coupons page by Newest.
Meijer: Wednesday through Tuesday
Meijer says its weekly ad starts on Wednesday and ends on Tuesday.
Target: early Sunday morning
Target says its weekly ad is updated every Sunday between midnight and 2 a.m. Central time. It also says what’s in the weekly ad varies by location.
Walgreens: Sunday, with a Thursday sneak peek
Walgreens says its regularly scheduled weekly promotions go live each Sunday, and that you can see the Weekly Ad Sneak Peek from noon on the Thursday before. On the coupon side, Walgreens coupons expire at 11:59 p.m. in the time zone of the store where they’re redeemed.
CVS: every week
Asked how often its myWeekly Ad offers are updated, CVS answers “Every week.” The page doesn’t name a day, so check the weekly ad in the CVS app or on cvs.com.
Raley’s: personalized offers every other week
Raley’s says its Personalized Offers load to your account every other week, and its Digital Offers are member-only deals available on your account each week.
Why your store might not match
The days above are what each store says in general. Your store can differ:
- Location and region. Kroger’s ad changes on Thursday in Indiana outside the southeast and Evansville, in Illinois and in eastern Missouri, and Publix has two ad cycles. Target says what’s in its ad varies by location.
- Posting time. Publix says posting can take several hours.
- Each coupon’s own dates. A coupon can start or end on any day, so the coupon itself shows when it’s good.
- Holidays and special weeks. Schedules can shift. Check the dates printed on the ad.
When in doubt, open your store’s app or website, pick your own store, and look at the dates on the ad and on each coupon.
A simple routine around your store’s schedule
- Learn your store’s ad day. Use the list above, then confirm it on your store’s own site.
- On that day or soon after, check the coupon page. Load anything new before you shop. A coupon only comes off if it’s on your account.
- Check end dates. Each coupon shows when it expires.
- Check again before a big shop. Publix, for example, says new coupons can be added at any time.

Where OttoClipper fits
Checking every store’s coupon page each week is the slow part: a coupon page can have a long list of offers, each with its own button. OttoClipper is a Chrome extension, with a free plan, that presses those buttons for you on the store’s own website, at 100+ stores. We never see your store passwords. You sign in on the store’s own site, like always. You start each run, and it clips the coupons on the store’s coupon page at that moment, so running it after your store’s ad day picks up whatever is there by then. It works in Chrome on a computer or a Chromebook, not on phones.
