Tips for clipping Kroger coupons

  • Sign in at kroger.com in Chrome first. Coupons load onto your Shopper’s Card, and OttoClipper works with the login your browser already has. It never sees your Kroger password.
  • The Kroger coupon page OttoClipper works through is kroger.com/savings/cl/coupons. Open it yourself any time to see what is on your account.
  • On the free plan OttoClipper runs four stores a day, and your first store run needs no OttoClipper account. Pro removes the daily limit.

Is there a way to clip all Kroger coupons?

Yes. Sign in at kroger.com in Chrome, open OttoClipper and choose Kroger, and it clips each available coupon to your Shopper’s Card. The limit on how many coupons a card can hold is Kroger’s, not OttoClipper’s.

How it works at Kroger

  1. 1

    Install OttoClipper

Add OttoClipper to Chrome. Your first store run needs no OttoClipper account; a free one keeps you clipping after that.

  2. 2

    Pick Kroger

OttoClipper opens kroger.com and works through the coupon list for you.

  3. 3

    Shop as usual

The coupons are on your Kroger account, so the discounts come off at the register.

How Kroger digital coupons work

From the store’s own public help pages. Each rule links to the page it came from and the day we read it; if the two ever differ, the store’s page is right.

  • Digital coupons load directly to your Shopper’s Card and are available as soon as you load them.

  • To redeem in store, scan your Shopper’s Card or enter your Alt ID at the register. The discount is applied automatically and shows on your receipt under the item as “ecpn”.

  • Most offers can only be loaded one time per household.

  • Start and end dates vary by offer, and each coupon shows its expiration date. Expired coupons move to Expired Coupons and are no longer active on your card.

  • Most coupons can be removed from your card without using them: open My Coupons and select “Remove from Card”.

  • Digital coupons can be used at any store in the Kroger family, as long as the product is in stock.

  • Digital Coupons and Cash Back Offers can’t be combined, and are limited to one per item.

Kroger questions, answered

How do I clip all my Kroger digital coupons at once?

▾

Sign in at kroger.com in Chrome, open OttoClipper and choose Kroger. OttoClipper opens Kroger’s coupon page and clips each available coupon to the Shopper’s Card on the account that is already signed in on that tab. It never asks for your Kroger password.

Is there a limit to how many Kroger coupons I can clip?

▾

Yes, Kroger sets one. Kroger limits how many digital coupons your household can load at once. If your card fills up, OttoClipper tells you. The limit is Kroger’s, not OttoClipper’s.

OttoClipper stopped before clipping everything. Why?

▾

Almost always because the card is full. Coupons you have used or that have expired stop counting toward Kroger’s limit, so a run after your next shop, or after older coupons expire, will clip more. You can also remove coupons you won’t use from your card on kroger.com (My Coupons, then “Remove from Card”) to make room.

The run clipped nothing, or said I’m not signed in. What do I do?

▾

Open kroger.com in the same Chrome profile, check that your name shows in the top corner rather than “Sign In”, then run Kroger again. OttoClipper can only clip into an account that is already signed in on that tab. If kroger.com itself keeps asking you to sign in when you load a coupon, Kroger’s help pages say to check that your Shopper’s Card number is on your account profile.

When do new Kroger coupons come out?

▾

Kroger’s weekly ad starts on Wednesday (Thursday in parts of Indiana, Illinois and eastern Missouri). Digital coupons carry their own start dates, so a run each week picks up whatever is new.

Do I need an OttoClipper account?

▾

Not for your first store run. After that, a free OttoClipper account (email and password) keeps you clipping four stores a day and saves your savings history.

Does it work at other Kroger stores?

▾

Yes. Ralphs, Fred Meyer, King Soopers, Smith’s, Harris Teeter, QFC and the other Kroger banners listed on this page use the same coupon system, so OttoClipper clips them the same way.

What does it cost?

▾

Free for four stores a day with a free account. Pro, for unlimited stores, is $4.99 a month or $45 a year.
